Aurora & Dawn

Phyllis Robinson's Challenge doll "Dawn" featured a kneeling cloth doll -
most unusual!   Another excellent pattern from "Designs by Phyllis"

This is my interpretation of the doll...
since she was made some time ago. the hair has drooped slightly but she is still lovely to look at!

Aurora & Dawn, cloth dolls

This was a first tryout of
Dy-na-Flow Dyes - interesting as they can be heat-set by ironing.

Using an eyedropper to apply the dyes to white re-embroidered tulle, with appliquéd lace edging.
Not quite the effect I was looking for but interesting nonetheless.
Don't know enough about combining colours...

The Tibetan lamb hair was also dyed and stiffened.   The idea was to have a "sunrise halo" of hair  which was repeated with the "New Dawn" baby.

The baby pattern is my own.
