"Belle"

Another of Phyllis Robinson's wonderful Challenge dolls,
this time a sitting doll whose bodice forms her body.

A large part of the charm of making these dolls was to come up with interesting costuming.   In this case, the diagonal stripes of the top dictated who the character was going to be...

Somehow, she looked like a "Bathing Belle" which led to the facial expression and the little crab biting her toe! (Even he is made from cloth!)

I'm very fond of this one and I did in fact keep her.
