Metallic & Rayon/Polyester Combination Threads
These iridescent threads (which we refer to as “Glitz” threads) add an extra sparkle and are particularly attractive on Geometrics, Fans and Wings of all sorts. We carry Starter Thread Packs and Reels of DMC™ Fils Metallise which come in a good range of colours.
The most useful:
DMC™ 4300 - White Iridescent (Mother of Pearl) Wings for the Butterfly, Fairy or Bee or the Bubbles on the Little Fishy.
DMC™ 4260 - Pink Variegated Used on the Fans & Flower Mandala, the Baby Carriage and Parasol.
DMC™ 4251 - Black/Rainbow Iridescent &
DMC™ 4270 - Black/Gold The body of the
Little Fishy or even the Dolphins, Owl eyes or anywhere that uses black - these are
warmer than plain black, which tends to look rather stark.
DMC™ 4015 - Red & DMC™ 4057 - Emerald Green
These two are perfect for Xmas cards
along with the Gold & Silver.
DMC™ 4038 - Royal Blue
The Blue Wren or anything needing a true blue.
Madeira™ have a similar range - however, avoid the “Glamour” range as it splits annoyingly.
Krienik™ have an excellent range of "sparkly" Blending Filaments, but these are rather expensive. Suitable for the Butterfly and Fairy top wings - use a plain metallic for the lower wings.
